A Look At When Our Fruits & Veggies Are In Season

I know its hard when you have a specific fruit or vegetable in mind but when you walk into a supermarket you can't even find it! Want to know why? Chances are it's probably not in season at that time. Whilst searching on the tumblr I found this amazing chart that lists when every fruit and veggie is in season. I hope it is helpful to you all because produce is far too expensive to pick wrong. Can I get an amen on that one ladies?

Here are my favorite fruit & veggies that I eat all year round:
  • Strawberries
  • Carrots
  • Bananas
  • Collard Greens
  • Apples
  • Broccoli
  • Plums

How To Fight Off A Binge!

(Courtesy of Tumblr)

I get it, this journey isn't easy or perfect. There are times when we simply cannot resist the urge to have something a little bit risky. Something that isn't in your tracker, something you have no intention of writing once your done biting.  For a lack of a better word, it is the it that shall never be named; the Binge

It makes us feel good for a moment then ten seconds after we feel guilty as hell and tons of disappointment. It makes us question the direction of the rest of our day and our weekly plan! It takes full control over us and we kind of fall victim easily.

But to avoid this whole process, we just need to keep our minds busy and come up with ways to combat that inner desire from our guts. Here are few distractions you can work on when you get that, "OMG I want to eat any and everything in this house" feeling.

What Will I Try Out?
  • Guzzling down a cup of water as fast as I can
  • Going through my before and after pictures
  • Making a list of why not to binge
  • Jumping rope or hitting some squats
  • Eating sugar free jello (5 calories) with fat free whipped cream (5 calories) = 0 points treat!
  • Calling Glo!

Plate Check Guide

Hey ladies! I thought we all needed a quick, easy, lesson in plates.  I know being on a weight loss journey is tough and some things aren't written out in a manual book to easily access.  However, luckily Glo & I are here to help you all out the best way I can.

Before my journey I had not a clue that my plate was supposed to look a certain way. But it certainly is! So listen up, take notes, and make changes to your plate if necessary (no one is perfect):
  • It is advised that half your plate be consumed with leafy greens and vegetables.
  • A quarter should contain grains or starch
  • A quarter should contain your protein or meat which should be between 3 and 4 oz the most

3 Quick Tips:
  1. Use a salad plate to make it easier not too overdue your portions. I find this extremely healthy and it creates the illusion that my plate is crowded with food when it really isn't
  2. Use measurement tools! Don't be afraid to place your meal on a scale to determine that it is exactly 3 oz or use a measurement cup to make sure you're putting precisely 1 cup worth of rice on your dish
  3. Remember to track it! You bite it you write it ladies!!!

Does your plate look like this?

Measurement Guide

I am a huge fan of the measurement tape as sometimes the scale doesn't exactly move but inches ALWAYS move. I measure myself at least every month to keep track of my progress and it is awesome.  However, it took me a long time to actually figure out how exactly to measure! So of course over on Tumblr, I found this amazing guide on tracking your measurements. I hope this is helpful to you all because it most certainly has been helpful to me!

Do you track your body measurements?
